In this sermon from Colossians 4:7-18, we are exhorted to focus on vertical relationships and the Kingdom of God. Vertical relationships are built on personal faithfulness to Christ, on mutual suffering for the gospel’s sake, on teamwork for advancing the gospel personally and globally, and on longing to be together and sharing in His joy. On the other hand, horizontal relationships are empty and leave a weight because they aren’t Kingdom focused. If horizontal relationships aren’t moved towards vertical relationships, God often removes them because they are a distraction and weight to the advancement of His Kingdom. What kind of relationships do you have right now? Are you aligning your relationships with His Word?
