Dear Loved Ones,

It is times like these that make passages like Philippians 4:6-7 jump off the pages of Scripture. We know these scriptures. We have read them many times, even memorizing them, but it is so very easy to lose perspective when things begin to tumble out of control. The truth is, we are never in control and secondly, God uses times of crises to remind us that we are but dust and that He alone is the sovereign Lord over all of the universe. All cells, molecules, atoms, viruses, angels, demons, sicknesses, plagues bow before His powerful and awesome Lordship as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

We do not deserve peace, health, food, family, friends, doctors, health, medicine, let alone eternal salvation, yet our God is so gracious and forgiving, He supplies all our needs.

Let us take a few moments and allow God’s Word to put things into perspective.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:6-7 [highlights mine]

Did you notice that? It is the peace of God that will guard our hearts and minds from all the crises pervading us. Our eternal inheritance is not in this life but the next. Did you also notice that in order to obtain this supernatural peace of God we must first pray, and two, we must pray with a heart of gratitude.

No gratitude = No peace

Right now, how many things are you truly grateful for? What should you give thanks and praise to God for at this very moment? The more we pray with this self-disciplined attitude, the greater our joy and peace will be.

A joyful life is gratitude based, not circumstantial.

Please take the time to mediate on this above picture and know that our all powerful, almighty God reigns upon heaven and earth and knows you by name. Blessed be His name!

You are Loved,

Pastor Jared
